Longboarding

I need to win the Lotto so I can get a few of these longboard wants of mine. First the Kahuna Bigstick just looks like a fun way to ride plus its good for your core, I mean look at above picture hahaha or some of kahuna's other riders like Kendel Grove the MMA fighter! And next the Joel tudor sector 9 deck mainly just cuz Joel Tudor is a bad A he is a surfer who rides both long and short and is good at both he is also a Jiu Jitsu master who has won many world titles! It has been ages since I have ridden and miss it oh so dearly! I go see the doctor tomorrow morning and I plan on finding out how much longer till I can get back on my board! It would also help if it would quit snowing! although the snow is nicw for Hot tub sessions!

Outdoor retail show!

Well the outdoor retail show was awesome it really made me want to be more active and also get a job in the outdoor industry (wish me luck) this event also made me feel not so hard core! James and i were just strolling around and half the people there looked like professional athletes and there where also some people there who looked like they owned the companies! We first stumbled into a guy who had lost a leg in an animal attack and had a fake leg with climbing shoe on it he was hard core! then we go past a booth where i hear some guy say... "the north pole was way harder to navigate than the south" yeah that guy is wild hard core! we also ran into Apa Sherpa (who summited Everest 18 times) and Lhakpa Sherpa (who has the fastest ascent 10 hours 56 min) kinda hard core!

hopefully this summer i can have some epic fun! if anyone is doing something hard core let me know so if i go back to the outdoor retail show i will have some stories!

CHAD JOHNSON aka OCHO CINCO

Well as you can see we have made some slight upgrades to the Knaphus family living room! For Christmas my good buddy James (with a soft J) noticed that Chad Johnson Fatheads where on sale (prolly due to his recent season) so he got me one! This is prolly the best gift I have received since I got the Holy Ghost. Chad is literally 6'4'' and now chills a few feet from our front door. It has been fun to see people's reactions, after I put it up bets were placed to see what LUDACHRIS would say! my money was on "this better not stick to the walls" other were... "what the hell is this"' "that better come come down" and everyone was pretty sure that something good would come out of his mouth but to our dissapointment when he came in all we herd was... "I'm not impressed" which still brought a smile to all of our faces! Chad has now been on the wall for over a week and I have noticed that our house has been a happier place, blessing the lives of those who enter! I have even seen Mub walk in kneel down, praise the Ocho Cinco, and touch himself on the forhead, belly, left and right chest (in that order) as he got up! I think Phils chances of having a black baby doubled so thats pretty good!

So I highly recomend everybody come on by and take a look because I dont know how much longer Chad will be hanging out at the Knaphus House! At least in his current location!

Pacman vs. The Golden Boy

Well as it is less than a week away I feel obligated to let everyone know whats up! Manny Pacquiao, the pound for pound best boxer in the world, and Oscar De La Hoya will be having what is being called the fight of the year!!! it will be a 12 round fight at the 147lbs welterweight! 147lbs is a big disadvantage for Manny as he has never challenged anyone out of a featherweight or lightweight classes. Manny is for sure the underdog!

Oscar De La Hoya has been training at the BIG Bear training camp living like a king. He is being trained by legends like Nacho Beristain, Angelo Dundee, and Edwin Valero! meanwhile Manny is training in Wild card boxing gym in Hollywood Cali, a gym full of boxers of all levels his trainer Freddie Roach has been working hard with Manny and its going to be an amazing fight. Freddie Roach also trained Oscar De La Hoya for one fight and claims to know what needs to be done to win this fight.

Manny "Pac Man" Pacquiao has a record of 47 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws. 35 of his 47 wins were by KO!

This is for sure one of my best pictures maybe even one of the best pictures in the land! well as you all have herd (or not yet) last Thursday I went in for surgery on my ACL (left knee) the first shot is an amazing pic just after I had put on my cute gown and sweet socks Leslie thought I looked like a little kid I think I just look like the short bus dropped me off!

This picture is another charm taken just a few minutes after I had woken from my deep sleep! Anyway the surgery went well and now i'm just on the long road to recovery!

so my story begins... I decide to take a day off work all pumped so i can hang out but mostly so i can do some vert with my buddy colt45 as you can see it started off great!!!
I was nailing tricks and getting better and better i was getting crazy on my new skateboard and doing some fruit bootin aswell all was going good i had taken a few pretty good falls had a little bit of vert butt, shoulder, and knee! colt got some vert chin and hip but we were having a blast!
time came and it was getting a little late i was starting to feel fatiuged but was also starting to get in a bit of a rithum so i pushed forward then i decided i had 3 vert seshes left in me and on the first one i got some good air but came down way to low in the pipe and my knee just poped!
after a few hours at the hospital it looks like i tore my MCL! and i hear if you clickety clack your knee your on your own son!

well this has been a fun week lots has been going on and i'll try to fill you in a little bit on whats all been going down! First off i got a new job! I am back at Kepco+ helping set stone at the new Church Library building! It is way fun! my day starts at 5:45 when i get up eat and get dressed so i can take the 25-30 min Vino ride to work its quite an epic journey i work 10 hours a day mon-thur and 8ish on Friday and Saturday depending on who is around! yesterday i smashed my fingers pretty good but all and all i am loving it! My other job is at The Huka Bar i only work
there one or two times a week usually on Thursday or Friday my shift is from 8pm-2am! the place is a blast I park cars working for Turn-key valet AKA Alex Knaphus's company! There is never a dull moment at the Huka Bar there have been big fights, scantily clad women, bakini nights, celebrities, Reggea nights, and lots of fun people. I love the bouncers they are so halarious and make sure its always a good time! this week i also hit up my Mission Reunion it was a blast to see all my mission buddies and the old mission pres. He had a little presentation with lots of fun pictures of everything happening in the Philippines Cebu Mission it was freekin fun I already want to go to the philippines again hopfully next year the picture from my reunion is of (from left to right- Jon Callister, Bryce Waite, Me, Sean Latimer, and Spencer Hankins) .
the Next picture is of my newly remodeled Longboard! Last week i made a few purchases online for some purple skateboard griptape, new wheels and some winter clothing the longboard turned out awesome i gave it a Philippine flag style grip job that mandy helped with which turned out awesome and the wheels look sick so i'm stoked if only it would quite raining! the last shot is of my Nomis Puff the Magic Jacket! thats right i got the purple suit its T.H.U.G. I cant wait to go ride this year if anyone is ever going to The Bird or to build a jump or snowskate or anything i need to be informed! well all is well in my life oh and Unsay Taas iro means whats up dog! peace

Hahahah this is what I hope to be shedding in this winter! It is the Nomis "Puff the Magic Jacket" and yes the desired color is Purple! not much is new in my life I bought my seasons pass to ride this year at Snowbird so anyone riding there this winter let me know so we can ride! I might even be working up at one of the ski resorts most likely Snowbird! I am in dire need of a good job and hopfully full time! Worst comes to worst I am putting some serious thought into 7eleven as I would get the much needed discount on Mango Arizona's hahahaha!

Vaccines for the Philippines II

Well I thought I would give this a little update as I have been home for a few days! I have included a few pictures so hopefully you can see how cool this was and maybe even come next year!!! The trip started off with us all jumping on Jeepneys and riding through the jungle to get to "Behind the Clouds" which is a really neat little town way far in the middle of the island of Bohol (where we were the whole trip). We participated in building houses and performing medical clinics involving check ups for anyone who wanted, dental, circumcision's for the young little boys, haircuts and lots of other stuff. It was such a neat experiance!

well the service part of our trip has come and gone and it was a blast i am trying to upload some pictures but connection in the Philippines has not been a fan of me and so i have not been keeping as up to date as i should have anyway the trip has been a blast i love the Philippines and the people here! we had an awesome time doing medical clinics and working on building houses i hope i can make this a yearly habit!

mission reunion

OK... well this is quite the story and i will do my best to tell it just as it happened. It all starts on a crazy Saturday morning after 5 hours of work, hauling stone in Sun Valley Idaho, I started my 4 hour drive to Logan Utah for my PCM( Philippines Cebu Mission) reunion! as i got close to Logan I found the road was closed this although not such a big deal was at the time after a long morning! i finally made it to the reunion where about 30 or so people were waiting for me to get started! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! so fun to see all my old mission buddies and Pres. and Sis Anderson! Everybody was doing so good and i had the time of my life. I loved my mission and i kinda had the opportunity to relive it for a little while i cant wait to go back next week and visit all the areas , foods , dodongs, indays and families that i love! Anyways on the way home i was on a spiritual high and thought i would try to listen to some church talks... Not the best idea i made it through one but the second was literally putting me to sleep after all i was driving until 2 am Sunday morning it was a ruff drive but thanks to screaming out to the music i was listening to and rolling down the windows i made the drive and had a wonderful\ very long day!

Eating our feast at the Pioneer Saloon! i have never seen so much food well other than the weekly visit to Sun Valley brunch!
This is my AWESOME sister and me at work! Mub and Mandy came up for a few days last week and it was a blast! We chilled a lot but also had some epic feasts, fun climbs, and plus its just fun to have some visitors every now and then!!!
lastly this is our climb! it was a really fun climb although the rock was way more slick than i would have liked. it made for some crazy holds and really obscure movements and lines up this awesome feature!
well my time here is winding down but we should still get in a few more sweet shots and i'll keep everyone posted on my awesome life!!!

Valley of Sun

Well my stay at the prestige Sun Valley is going great!!! as you can see i usually stroll down looking my best (for the lady's) I cant believe its not working??? Last week Nate, James and i spoke in church on the three fold mission of the church it was amazing we killed it to one of the biggest crowds the Sun Valley had ever seen! We are know like c-list celebrities here! we also recently had our 10 seconds of fame on Sun Valleys Plum TV aka channel 13 here we are kinda a big deal!!!James got a sweet new bike so me and him have been riding 3-4 times a week this is us well him as we are taking off for a nice little stroll we have done quite a bit of riding which is fanominal here today i went on a nice little ride and a fox was just chillin on the side of the road we see them all the time...

SUN VALLEY

Well i have been here in sun valley for like a month now and finally have a picture thanks to Mammy and Fannie!!!!! I am doing stonework for my fathers company KEPCO+ its going really good and i'm making bank which is nice! We dont do to much here i'm up here with my best friend Nate Parkinson and James (tiger butter) Mclaren. Almost every day we do the same thing... Go to work at 6:45 get off at 5:30 then go to the local YMCA to kick it in the hot tub or use the amazing climbing wall! this weekend Steph and Masha came up and spent a few days here it was a blast!!

well its been one year today since i got home from my mission! Kinda crazy how fast time flies. I left may 11th 2005 (the same day as Bruce Knaphus) and got home may 17th 2007 (today, well a year ago!). Garr took off for the mission on may 14th so thats about as close as it gets to being one year from me! its been three days since we saw him off at the MTC and still havnt herd from him i'm guessing he is using all his free time to sleep!!!

John Hafen Knaphus "Jack" 1930 ~ 2008 Friend to All "Jack accepted, loved, and humored all" John Hafen Knaphus passed away peacefully and valiantly during the early hours of May 6th, surrounded by the comfort of his family. Jack died from complications of Diabetes, after patiently enduring its many effects. He never complained. Staying positive, sensitive, and cheerful were among Jack's many gifts to all of us. He was a man of both great honor and great humor. His character was built with a perfect blend of humility, integrity, hard work, humor, service, tender moments, teaching, more humor, solid advice, wisdom and a genuine love for all. One of Jack's great metaphors of life was, "Keep the shiny side-out", combining his positive outlook on life with his chosen career in the ceramic tile business. Jack was well respected, and enjoyed his associations in the construction industry. He mentored his sons and grandsons in the tile and stone industry that he loved so much. Jack was born August 13, 1930 to Torleif S. and Emelia Christensen Knaphus. When only 16 months old, Jack's mother died and his loving sisters nurtured him until his father married Rebecca Marie Jacobsen, whom Jack welcomed and loved. While growing up in the Sugarhouse area, Jack developed friendships and memories that have lasted a lifetime. He attended Garfield, Irving Jr., and South High Schools. Jack married Joyce Roberts Sept. 26, 1949. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and had been married for nearly 57 years before Joyce's passing in Sept of 2006. After Jack served stateside in the army during the Korean War, Jack and Joyce returned to Salt Lake and raised their young family in the Mt. Air Acres area, before spending 32 years in the Millcreek/Holladay area. Jack and his beloved wife Joyce created a large beautiful family. They all cherish the loving memories of Jack and Joyce's special love and warmth, as well as their fine examples. Jack's highest priority was his family. Jack touched lives. He was down-to-earth, outgoing, accepting and genuine. He was a dear companion to his sweet wife Joyce, a loving father to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special friends. He loved and respected his care givers, co-workers, and employees and virtually everyone he encountered. Jack always learned and used your name. Dad served the Lord by showing respect to everyone he met and by serving others through his many LDS Church responsibilities. Jack's accepting congenial nature served him well, as he served others. Jack is survived by his six married children, John (Peggy), Carie (Bruce) Reid, Bruce (Laurie), Chris (Leslie), Mark (Julie), Peggy (Kevin) Duke, 27 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Marie James, Becky Beddoes, and Rowena (Don) Aina, brothers, Norman (Charlotte), Elling (Joan), Steven (Barbara) and Martin (Jan) Knaphus, brother-in-law, Dale Roberts, sister-in-law, Judy (Judd) Myers. He is preceded in death by his wife, two great-grandchildren, his parents, three brothers (Kimball, Harold, T.M.), three sisters (Olive, Grace, Irene), and many friends and relatives. Trip to Joe's and St. George

Ok. well Garr, Nate and myself started an epic journey first off to Joe's Valley. Joe's is a rock climbing mecca an amazing place. We got there at 2am due to some awful directions from c-diddy and a even worse Jazz game that we stopped and watched in Manti Utah. Although the Game was no good we did have a freezing cold but epic longboard session. Once in Joe's we set up camp or really just slept under the stars woke up and did some awesome climbing. we took off midday for St. George where we also spent all our time climbing. We also met up with my sister Mandy her husband Fill and by little bro Riley we had a blast. lastly we headed to Vegas for a sick Reggae Fest Rebalution tore it up check um out at... http://www.myspace.com/rebelutionmusic and SOJA was the headliner they were way GOOD! you should also take a look at them if you like reggae... http://www.myspace.com/soja any way we have been back safe and sound for a few days but the climbing hasnt stopped. Yesterday we had a nice climbing session in the morning in American Fork Canyon and then in the evening i got a really good shot of Garr climbing in the Secret Garden up LCC...

I think what i have is...
Acute viral nasopharyngitis, or acute coryza, usually known as the common cold, is a highly contagious, viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory system, primarily caused by picornaviruses (including rhinoviruses) or cornonaviruses. but it could be worse or not so bad who knows prolly the doctor who i will be seeing in 1 hour. Common symptoms are sore throat, runny nose, nasel congestion, sneezing and cough (which i have all of); sometimes accompanied by pink eye, muscle aches, fatigue, malaise, headaches, muscle weakness, and/ or loss of appetite. Fever and extreme exhaustion are more usual in influenza. The symptoms of a cold usually resolve after about one week, but can last up to 14 days. Symptoms may be more severe in infants and young children. Although the disease is generally mild and self-limiting, patients with common colds often seek professional medical help, use over-the-counter drugs, and may miss school or work days. The annual cumulative societal cost of the common cold in developed countries is considerable in terms of money spent on remedies, and hours of work lost.

one night i saw a SIGBIN

The Sigbin is a creature of Philippine mythology said to come out at night to suck the blood of victims from their shadows. The creature walks backward with its head lowered between its hind legs. It resembles a hornless goat, emits a very nauseating smell and possess a pair of very large ears which are capable of clapping like a pair of hands. It is also claimed to issue forth from its lair during holly week, looking for children that it will kill for the heart, which is made into an amulet.

It is also believed that there are families known as Sigbinan ("those who own Sigbin"), who possess the power to command them. The Aswang is said to keep it as a pet, along with another mythical creature, a bird known as the Wakwak. The sigbin is said to bring wealth and luck to its owners.

I took a picture of this at a zoo in Zamboanguita, Negros it is one of the prized peices in the crazy collection of Father Tropa (the founder of the Lamplighters!) go team SPACESHIP 2000 ET.

this guy is the man the Pinoy sensation! pro skater Willy Santos. I rocked his shoes way back when and in the process of hunting down some of his shoes today I realized he is a pinoy! He is also such a sick skater he rides for Birdhouse aka Tony Hawk but also has his own line of stuff called Willy's Workshop. His new shoes are sick and i plan on getting them ASAP! they come in this sick white but also in a rasta pattern that is way sick!

Ok so the other night i was up way late doing homework! I decided to take a little break and headed to my room and as i walk i can hear what at the time i think is max going through my stuff or something else rummaging through my stuff! I get to my room its quiet and no one was there. It was for sure the ghost! i am a firm believer that our house has a ghost for this isnt the first time i have encountered him just the most recent!
